Zip codes came into existence on July 1, 1963, This is a good day for kids to memorize their addresses, and to practice the correct way to address an envelope and place a stamp. Have them write a note to a friend or relative, then head down to the post office to pick out just the right stamp.
It's the first day of the 2nd half of the year! Maybe not a time for New Year resolutions, but a nice time to review the accomplishments, milestones and good times with your children. Then, make a list of wishes for the second half of the year.
