JULY 14 - National farriers week
What is a farrier, anyhow? Farriers are blacksmiths who shoe horses. Take a trip to the local stables to visit the horses. Call ahead to make arrangements. Some stables have pony rides and parent/child rides for young children. Perhaps your child will be lucky enough to bring home a lucky horse shoe as a souvenir.
Be sure to hang it with the ends pointing up for good luck. You don't want all the luck to fall out!
