JULY 17 - Disneyland grand opening 1955, National hot dog day, Yellow pig day, Wrong way Corrigan day
In 1955, Disneyland opened the gates to the “happiest place on earth,” located in the middle of what had been an orange grove in rural Anaheim, California. Since then, hundreds of theme parks have been opened around the world. The summer is a perfect time to visit a theme park with the entire family. There are so many different types to meet the needs and interests of anyone and everyone. To find a theme park near you, go to: Theme Park Directory . Have fun!
So who is "Wrong Way Corrigan"? Douglas Corrigan was an American aviator. He was nicknamed "Wrong Way" in 1938. He flew from Brooklyn, New York, to Ireland, even though his flight plan was filed to fly to Long Beach, California. He said that he made a navigational error because of weather and heavy clouds.
Hopefully your summer flights won't take you the wrong way. Here are some great Tips for flying with kids
I have no idea what yellow pig day is about. But here are some fun Pig Coloring Pages . Your little artists can paint them any crazy color.
